As we prepare for virtual learning Johnson County Schools is still dedicated to providing nutritional meals to our students. During this time students will be able to have meals delivered to their homes via bus routes or there will be a drive-up pick-up location at Mountain City Elementary from 11:00 to 12:00pm. However, this will not be similar to our feeding service in the spring. Students must be enrolled in Johnson County Schools and complete the form below to receive these free meals. This form will be available on our social media pages, district websites, and paper copies will be available at Central Office.
Due to the recent spike in COVID cases in our county, we have decided to delay the start of the school year until Monday August 17th. The safety of our students and staff are the most important thing during this time. There will be a special called board meeting on Wednesday August 5th at 5:00 to discuss the plan for returning and it will be shared with everyone that evening.
Parents of the 8th Grade students last year that had planned to participate in the Summer 2020 Washington D.C. trip need to call the Middle School secretary, Mrs. Kathy Garr at 727-2600 to confirm the name and address for their requested refund. They have been working diligently on this situation, but due to circumstances beyond our control, these refunds cannot be issued until after August 13, 2020.

Johnson County Schools have been using software for several years to communicate with its parents, staff and students about local events, school schedule changes and general school related information. There have been some major updates to the software over the past couple of months that have not allowed our e-mail communication to go out alongside our voice messages. This has created some confusion and has limited effective communication between the schools and parents. With assistance and guidance from our software team at School Messenger, we have a solution in place that will allow everyone to continue receiving calls via voice and e-mail.
This newly passed law provides revisions and updates regrading school attendance, truancy, and discipline.
If you’re going on to college, applying for employment or need access to your official school records, you can now request your records and transcripts via a link on our web site! Please visit our forms and links page for more information!
